After being a client of Northwestern Mutual for seven years, I was asked by my agent to come interview with the company. At first, I did not think that Northwestern Mutual (or any insurance company) would be a place where I would want to make a career. I did not think of myself as a “salesman” and did not know if I would be good at this. However, what I did know is that I am a good “salesman” for ideals and services that I am passionate about. Almost totally out of respect for my agent and friend, I accepted and went to the first interview. After my interview process I realized that Northwestern Mutual had the same values as I do, which is a people first mindset. It is not a mindset of having to be the biggest insurance company at the expense of the policy holders, but rather being the “policy holders company” as stated in our mission statement. Then after seeing the integrity of the company and how they consistently take care of their clients, I knew Northwestern Mutual was a company in which I could believe and which I could talk to my family and friends about confidently.
